Our frame sizes

Glasses Size Guide

Frame Width is the measurement horizontally across the back of the frame. frame sizes

Lens Width is the horizontal width of each lens at its widest point.

Lens Height is the vertical distance of the lens at its tallest point. If you want to order progressive, the lens height of the frame should be at least 33mm.

Bridge Width is the shortest distance (in millimeters) between your two lenses.

Temple Length is the length of the temple to its temple tip, including the bend that sits on your ear.

We suggest you measure your frame dimensions to make sure your new glasses correctly fit your face.

A few helpful tips for measuring your frame

Finding The Perfect Frame Width

Your perfect frame should be slightly wider than your face — no more than a fingertip's width between the temple and your face. Any wider is a sign that your frames are too wide.

Get Cozy With Your Temple Length

Temple length is the measurement (in millimeters) of the frame's arms. The temple should fit horizontally and evenly along your face and fit comfortably along the outside of your ear.

Picking The Right Lens Height And Width

Your eyes should be centered within your lenses. Eyeglass frames that are too wide will make your eyes appear too close, while frames that are too narrow will make your eyes look farther apart.

Selecting The Ideal Bridge Width

The distance between a frame's two lenses is called the bridge width. The bridge of your glasses should sit comfortably against your nose. If you have close-set eyes, the ideal bridge width is a lower number. If you have wide-set eyes, the ideal bridge width is a higher number.

The width includes lens and bridge widths in millimeters. Look on the inside of the temple arm to find your frame measurements.

Most eyewear brands print these details in a similar spot; if you already have a pair that you like, you can compare measurements to see how a certain frame of ours will fit you.

Multifocal

Multifocal lenses are designed to help you focus on things near and far. Mint offers traditional bifocal and progressive lenses.

Bifocal lenses provide a distinct separation between the distance and the reading part of the glasses by utilizing a segmented half-shaped circle in the bottom portion of the lenses for magnification. This segment causes a visible line on the lens. For these types of lenses, the PD (Pupillary Distance) measurement is very important to ensure that the centre of vision is placed correctly on the lenses.

Progressive lenses correct vision at all distances, completely eliminating the need to switch between reading and distance glasses throughout your day. Update: We’ve upgraded our standard option for even wider fields of view!

Non-Prescription

Looking to get glasses as accessories but don't require a prescription? Select non-prescription, plano lenses.

Spherical error, or the overall lens power, is the basic part of your prescription. You’ll notice (+) and (-) signs on your prescription. When there’s a (+), it means you have trouble seeing near, and when there’s a (-), it means you have trouble seeing far away.

A cylinder value indicates astigmatisms or perpetually blurry vision. The axis — measured between 1° and 180°— tells us the orientation of the astigmatism

The ADD number is sometimes written NV for near vision, and is used for multifocal lenses and readers.

It’s just what it sounds like — the distance in millimeters (mm) between your pupils. An average PD measurement in 63mm, but it varies by person.
